What is Laminated Gold?

Laminated gold refers to a piece made from a base of titanium that is coated with several layers of gold, usually 14k or 18k.

The number of layers and thickness can vary, typically ranging from 3 to 6 layers of precious metal, bonded together using welding and pressure.

Laminated gold is 50 to 100 times thicker than regular gold plating.

The most commonly used gold quality is 14k and 18k. A standard for the precious metal (gold) weight is 20% of the total weight of the item.
